About Mid Island Psychology Associates

Mid Island Psychology Associates is a Long Island–based private practice specializing in evidence-based psychological treatment and comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Our practice was founded on the belief that effective mental health care must be individualized, practical, and grounded in clinical science.

We provide expert treatment for a range of concerns, including Anxiety disorders, ADHD, functional neurological disorder (FND), and mood-related conditions. Our clinicians have specialized experience working with individuals presenting with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as functional neurological symptoms, including motor and sensory changes, functional tics, and mind-body presentations that impact daily functioning.

In addition to therapy, we offer comprehensive psychological and autism assessments, including diagnostic evaluations for school accommodations, treatment planning, and gifted program eligibility.

At Mid Island Psychology Associates, we take a collaborative and personalized approach to care. We meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to their unique needs, strengths, and goals. Using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we help clients build effective coping strategies, improve functioning, and create meaningful, lasting change—particularly in complex presentations such as OCD, ASD and FND.

Our clinicians are highly trained, compassionate professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality care. We also work closely with parents, schools, physicians, neurologists, and other providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support across settings.

Whether you are seeking therapy, diagnostic clarification, or guidance for your child or family, our team is dedicated to helping you move forward with confidence.

Getting Started

Taking the first step toward treatment can feel overwhelming, but we aim to make the process as clear and supportive as possible. To begin, we invite you to call (516) 719-6383 or email our office. From there, you will be scheduled for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation with one of our clinicians.

During this consultation, the clinician will gather information about your referral concerns, discuss your preferences (including in-person vs. virtual sessions), and review scheduling availability. Using this information, we thoughtfully match you with a provider who is the best fit for your needs, goals, and logistics.

We also encourage you to explore our Meet the Team section, where you can learn more about each of our clinicians, their backgrounds, and areas of specialization. While these profiles highlight key interests and expertise, they are not exhaustive—all of our clinicians are trained in evidence-based treatments and work with a wide range of concerns, even if every area is not specifically listed in their bio.

Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and comfortable with your provider from the very beginning. If your initial match does not feel like the right fit, we will work collaboratively with you to make adjustments and find the best possible therapeutic connection.
